Big Kids

Big Kids

A Poem by Mitch Hall
"

A short piece about those who think that age is simply a number!

"
Big Kids

Age
A curious word depicting a curious thing
Simply a number
A life choice perhaps?
Or just how we all think and feel, within.

Society expects,
Dictates his will upon the lot
To change
To force
Whether we agree or not.

The masses
They play along, bending to his will
Wrong or right?
Choosing, perhaps,
To stay within the system? Staying still.

The others
We do it our way, as is our wont
They say we rebel
To make a name for us
You can just call us “Les Enfants”.

Stop and look.
We’re no crusaders, not looking to forbid
We’re carefree
Easygoing yet essential
We are, simply, JUST BIG KIDS!
