Incandescent Now

Incandescent Now

A Poem by Bowersox

A gigantic nuclear furnace

     tha-thump

Beats as it heats

A prairie upon which these souls stroll

The warming glory of golden grasses

Above with skies deep and rolling

And in between a connection

Radiating of thee and a fated me

Though it seems almost invisibly

Clouds come and change the scene

Darkness creeps

Renders me speechless

     tha-thump  tha-thump

Quicker now with worry of what’s to come

All is closing in

I cannot breath, a fear is gripping me

Where to turn

     tha-thump  tha-thump  tha-thump

Faster yet and too soon to be now

Coldness abides

And though dawn is nigh

Racing

Racing hearts beating

     thump  thump  thump  thump

I fold into you

Abandoning the cold

And awake to find not new

But old visions of, who

WHACK!  In a flash, crashing!

This truth, this heart shattering

And in the silent screaming

It becomes clear,

I am dreaming.
