Just a shadow

My best friend.
The sister I never had
So many memories
I'll never forget.

Late night convos have seized
Our time together has slowed
As life has continued
We've grown apart

You're an amazing woman
You've made it so far already
I wish you nothing but the best
In the rest of your endeavors.

The spot you filled next to me
Now just a shadow
If you ever need me
I'll always be right here.

This invokes a feeling of nostalgia, old memories that are there but can't be relived. A friend lost in time, a shadow of her former self. Forgotten, yet only by herself. Amazing for a poem, so don't say you are terrible. Practice and imagination is always key!
