From Your Daughter

From Your Daughter

A Poem by Marie Kinnett
"

To my dad

"
From your daughter
I'd like to say
I love you for every moment
For the last sixteen years

Even when I get
Snappy or snarky
Say things that are mean
I love you through it all

When your not home
or late from work
I stay up to try and catch you
to say hi or how was your day

To know how you been
Every day even for a few minutes
You work every day
To support me and everyone else

I love you
 Dad
I don't say it a lot
But when I do I mean it

From your daughter
Sixteen years
You've been my dad
And I'm happy you are

As you watch me grow up
Remember I'm still
your little girl
Even as I'm older

From your daughter
I say
I love you
Dad

Thank you
For the last
Sixteens years
And for many more to come

From your daughter
I love you

Brought tears to my eyes, that's how powerful words can be! And you string them together well. Writing is WHat has carried me through the minefield of life, and it will carry you through your own hell. Be careful on the personal stuff that you don't give too much of you away, people will take all you can give and more.
