You have tried

And cared for 

Sixteen years 

Not giving up

Even though 

I wasn't yours

You didn't leave

Stayed by my side

For sixteen years

For not giving up

or leaving

Even when i'm a lot

or when I have

bad days and good

For sticking with me 

even when I stress you out

And finally

For being the mom

I needed

For stepping up

When it wasn't 

Your job or responsibility

When I needed a mom

You were there

For the world

you helped me
