This River

This River

A Poem by Marie Kinnett

Floating quietly down this river
River of hopes and dream
You sit silently
Awaitng for someone to come along

To float alongside you
The talks at night
Kisses in the morning
But your love down this river
Is all I need

Three words I have waited my whole life
To say to someone
For them to say it too
For them to say I love you too

We float gently down this path
of love and hope
Waiting for the one
The one for you
and one for me

Till then I float alone
humming along to the flow
The rivers flow of love and harmony
Hum along if you can
Because I will too
Hum of love and peace
Hope and the future

Floating down and away
Humming a song
I will wait
For you and... me

Thank you :)
This poem has the tune of love-sickness and hope wrapped together in a peaceful, flowing bundle. It's relatable to yearn for someone to float down the metaphorical river with. Someone to hold. To love. To play. I don't know of anyone who *doesn't* want a connection like that. But this piece has the right attitude about it. It gives this sense of staying positive and uplifted by ones own spirit as they travel along for a time, hoping and keeping faith they'll bump into someone significant later down the current.

This is well written and very much enjoyed. :)
