Break Down: Marie POVA Story by Marie Kinnett
The guy outside. When I drive by he is always there. Looks over and we make contact with our eyes every time. He sends a small wave over and smiles.
I think I have fallen for the guy outside who waves to me. Now one day driving by again my car breaks down. Now I wonder why. With only 10 minutes before the curfew, I needed to get back fast. As I get out of the car to see what is wrong, a light shined at me, blinding me. As the light gets closer, I squint to see who was behind the light. Walking towards me was him. I turn around thinking why. Turning to the car looking for what's wrong, he had reached the car. Saying hello he asks if everything is okay. Looking at him I say, "No it's not. My car broke down and I have ten minutes to get home." "Ah, I see." He pops the hood of the car, checking the engine, spark plugs and the oil. While he checks, I get a closer look at him. He's tall maybe 5'9 with brown hair and eyes. Looks like he has a slight build. While I was staring, he had fixed the car and started talking to me. "So it looks like you were just low on oil so I put some in." "Uhm, thanks for helping me with my car. Btw what's your name?" Looking at me he says, "My name is John Smith. It was no problem, just helping someone out." "Well thanks again, John. I'm Marie, Marie Kinnett. Well I better get going, thanks again." As I get into my car, John waves and walks away to his house. I sit in my car, processing what just happened. Realizing I didn't have time to sit and think when I needed to get home before curfew. Driving as fast as the law allowed me to , I manage to get home in time.
