Living Rent Free In My Head

Living Rent Free In My Head

A Poem by Marie Kinnett
"

New crush

"
Everyday I spend thinking about what to do
Listening to the current of thoughts
When one clear image pops up
His face, his smile, his laugh
Struggling to let go of his image
I fill my time with things
Keeping me busy
Taking my mind off him
Every time I see him
I get a little smile
But then I frown
Remembering he has a girl
Im not that girl
He's living rent free
and I can't get him away

New crush? It certainly has you ready and wanting. Your written words speak aloud, finely laid they are from start to finish; almost a dream or reverie, almost impatient. A + should do it, Marie.

You succeeded, Marie.. Strangely: I am one of seven adult children!

It certainly does. :)
A story of unrequited love, that disease of both the young and old. Great title! That hooked me immediately.

Thank you, Micheal. This poem just came to me out of nowhere after seeing him
I like how simply you name the pull of it, the way a thought becomes a presence. It lands softly but stays.

Thank you, the poem just came into my head and I needed to write it down
Struggling to let go of his image, it sounds very much like an uncomfortable situation. A bit like a double edged sword. You convey your emotion well here.

Ah the agony and ecstacy of human encounters eh.....

This is an interesting poem....you talk of thinking of him, smiling about him...

Love, whether or not it's reciprocated, is one of the greatest feelings in the world....:)

You do a good job of expressing these feelings here...

Thanks for sharing

True it is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Thanks for commenting on my poem
I would make him pay a humongous damage deposit.
