Shadows

Bittersweet moments...

Shadows trapped
inside my cheerful heart.
Sorrow escapes my mind;
Yet safely kept
in a distant corner of my breast.
My heart sings,
grief mingled with joy
in a dissonant symphony

Silent shapes
dancing on the wall;
Soft movements
forming shades in light;
Across the wall,
across the sky;
Distinguishing dark from light.
Embarking on a journey,
soft shadows,
embracing the world
for a moment
- Before giving way
to the nakedness;
The water withdraws,
leaves the sand bare.

I like how you write. I feel a sense of Hemingway longing in your words. Things wished for and missed.
The three closing lines could stand alone. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
