We are nature

We are nature

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney
"

Please do not misunderstand when I say” foolishness.” It is simply said to stop the flow, in order to grasp my point, of what is to follow.

"

NaturalNature

We stand in awe of the mountains,

the sea births serenity,

we honor the earth and what it bears,

look to it, to feel free.

Ah, foolishness! We miss the point.

It’s part of you and me.

From the nature is whence we came,

thus nature sets us free.

Lose not the point that pushes us,

that makes us crave this earth.

We are a part of all we crave,

Immerse yourself in worth.

Of the mountain peaks we are part,

of the sea so are we,

of evergreens and old oak trees,

earth's vessels walking free.

So surround yourself in nature,

the waters of your soul.

Submerse yourself, with who we are,

a part of nature,  whole.

For we are a drop in the eternal ocean of energy, yet we are never alone in this world. We are all things and all things are part of our spirit. One can not live a part from the whole unless he is a splinter from the branch of the great tree of life without the knowledge of his origin.

I really like this, as I do all of your work. You always make your readers think about things. How we continue to destroy nature by cutting its tress to make room for more homes, and pollute our waters with chemicals from factories, but it's really this same nature that we exist from. You didn't even mention that, but that's what I thought of as I was reading this poem, that we are really destructing ourselves when we destruct nature. As always 100/100!

A friend of mine went into the wilderness, she carried with her Wealth; a good dog,a
good horse,a good gun and good lions to track. She would climb, ride ,listen,....
listen for a tree, and listen...
My father would set the horses foot down, pad the back of his hand on the horses neck
brush ever so softly
look out and listen... listen..
Thank you for reminding me to listen...listen...

We are apart of nature and we have come sooooo far from it... we type on computers and stay indoors as much as possible.

This piece is a reminder to us all as to where we came from and who we are. These are pondering words you have left me us Melody. Fantastic write

Outstanding poem. I love the concept and I think you handled it quite well. I love how the "Ah, foolishness! We miss the point." It adds an exciting break to the poem. Great job.

I love this poem soooo much. It reminds me of my favorite type of poetry (Romanticism). It felt like I was reading Williams Wordsworth for a second :P I concur that we both come from nature, and that we are one with it as well. It makes me sad that technology and the modern generation have become so disconnected with their roots. I believe that it is people like you and me, who keep this idea alive :) Thank you for this wonderful piece.
