Immortal Time

Immortal Time

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney

wow

Tipping scales of immortal time,

intertwined this world and I.

My breath is not a guarantee,

for death I am not so shy.

Far beyond this life I’ll still be.

My soul lives eternally.

Twisted and bound to a mere shell,

I walk with humility.

I crave not the things most desire,

it’s just not a part of me.

I am simply the arms and legs,

of a soul with destiny.

So many adorn their bodies,

neglecting their very soul.

I will never understand this,

those things never make you whole.

How do you not see who you are?

Is your blind eye, purposely?

Your soul is craving, yet unheard!

Let it breathe and set it free!

Give it freedom by what you do.

Let it live its life through you!

You are here, because, it chose you.

Without it, you would be through.

Grasp the passion, with heart and soul.

Live your life, and let it shine.

Understand soon, life will move on

sucked into immortal time.

'So many adorn their bodies,

wonderfully worded my dear and such a regular thing that is seen with people these days-paying more mind to the aesthetics rather than the gooey nougat center that is the individual and their souls. People get lost within their own shallow way of thinking and the narrowmindedness of conformity. As empty as people are and we realize that they are, sadly enough even a warning or a bludgeon to the head won't wake them up because they don't realize that it is happening to them. Hopefully this poem screams out to them and beats them until they are unconscious. Certainly had an effect upon me. Bravo! Very well penned!

Your poem reflects the need we all have of the hope of something better than what we can see or feel in this world. While I don't go along with the philosophy of an immortal soul, your writing is clear and simple, offering feelings of calmness and serenity.

I agree with the logic of the poem. Need to live life and enjoy the good things. People cannot live for mistakes and sadness. Good to go forward and hope for good things. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

I have not one complaint about this poem. This is absolutely perfectly said. Personally, I couldn't agree more with the sentiment expressed. As poetry, is it simply amazing. What an uplifting poem to read after a long and weary day. Thank you for sharing, poet.

We are our own worst enemy cause we tend to let our fears and doubts limit our own potential.
