A Night to Sleep To

A beautiful night with nothing on my mind but had a hard time sleeping.

Into the dusk this day’s demise

Earth’s core rests unto dawn

Finding solace in this room

Eyes setting onto this lawn

 

Last days chants just fade away

Coming night starts to rest

Birds do chirp and softly sing

Earth closes towards the crest

 

A single lamp shines so dim

Crickets churn a nightly song

The chair besides sits alone

Next day at last seems so long
