A Story by mockingbird8

Out of breath, hurt, and tear filled, I watch him walk away. I love him, but sometimes I hate him so much. I can't stay here, I need to get away, to go somewhere nobody can hurt me. There is only one place in the world  I can think of. I know I can't go there now, it's five whole states away, but the next best place is right down the hall.

I run and run, ignoring the handful of teachers telling me to slow down. I have to get there, and fast. I turn on the sharp corners, almost bumping into the tiny little sixth and seventh graders that I tower over.

When I reach her room, the same wave of sadness that I felt on the last day of school that year comes back over me. I know that she is gone, but looking into the place where she once was makes me feel better.

I miss her, and school has never been the same without her. She is the reason for so many things. She was the reason I cried on the first day over summer, she was the reason I cried on the last day of summer, and the first day of school. She was the reason I smiled, just a little bit, on the darkest day. When I couldn't take it anymore, I wrote to her.

I will grow old and so will she, but I will never forget her.

"Hey, what are you doing all the way down here?" The voice is much to familiar.

"Nothing, just visiting." I say.

"What are you visiting?" Asks the problem.

"Nothing."

"You sure?"

"Yes, and what are you doing down here?"

The problem looks away, face turning pink, and says"I followed you."
