To, Mike Stevens, 1978; From Mike Stevens, 2012-2013A Story by Michael StevensNot really a story, but...“To Mike Stevens, 1978; From Mike
Stevens; 2012-2013”
“Hey Mike, I know you’re just about to
enter high school. I know how traumatic
it was for you going from elementary school to junior high. I just want to let you know it will be
better, so don’t worry so much. I know
you tend to be a worrier, but take the advice of a guy who’s seen it all, the
things you think are important only will last about as long as it takes for the
school door to close forever behind you, and you’ll soon forget why you even
thought they were so important. I remember
vividly that you are petrified of women; how much in awe you are of them. Just remember, most of them are as unsure of
themselves as you are, about everything;
they just do a better job of hiding it. I
remember you always wore that deer caught in the headlights look. The usual result of that was you got run over quite a bit. You need to remember to stop being so
shy. The only result of that will be
that most women will think of you as being stuck up, when if they knew how
painfully shy you feel, they wouldn’t think that way. You may be surprised to be receiving this
letter from me, but I’m just trying to smooth things out for you. I know how mature you think yourself, but
believe me, you’re not anywhere close! I’ve
written to you before, but I wanted to again to pass on some more of my
experience. Believe me; you’re going to
need all the help you can get!
