Hope Springs EternalA Poem by Michael StevensAn ode to baseball!
Hope Springs Eternal
Another baseball season has arrived, and every team
has a chance
Winter moves are about to be proven right or wrong
The long-suffering fan has hope, at least for awhile
The never-ending winter gives way to warmer days,
For us fans, tis the hoping season
You can pretend, at least for a week or two
That all the moves your team made were the right ones
The start of every season, where every team is equal
The illusion wears off and soon enough, reality sets
in for most,
But every dream can come true, all the promise has a
chance
to prove the so-called experts wrong, just maybe, this is the year!
