What the Hell’s Going On?

 

 

I’m trying so hard to make some kind of sense

 

out of what’s happening around me,

 

in the world of politics, but ‘no go!’

 

There’s people screaming for the President’s head on a pike,

 

that he’s to blame for everything, when they know the truth

 

he inherited a complete mess; but, instead

 

of grabbing a shovel and helping dig us out,

 

all they can think of is getting back in power;

 

because, lord knows their way worked out so good before,

 

maybe if we’d given them just a little more time,

 

we’d all be living under bridges and begging for change

 

Oh, that’s right, all the bridges would have fallen down,

 

so we couldn’t use one for shelter, let alone driving

 

Well, it would serve us right; after all, we all want something free!
