Quiet Stillness

Quiet Stillness

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

A lazy summer's day at the river!

"

Quiet Stillness

Sitting by the river on a lazy summer’s day

watching the water roll by with nothing much to say

Ponder the universe for empty hours

Let go of the stress, let go of the dour,

negative thoughts that usually fill your head,

let go of the past; let go of stupid things you’ve said

Now is the time to look forward, not back

As heat waves shimmer, there’s no need to “yak, yak, yak!”

Beautiful solitude. I like the peaceful vibe this gives off. Those tranquil days are so nice. Who needs words? Speaking of rivers, I haven't fished for a while :)
