Englishman in Disguise

Forgotten roots!

Englishman in Disguise

I wrote a poem about being 1/2 Scandinavian and 1/2 Irish

The English spirits of my long ago past are a little upset!

If you think Vikings and the Irish can get hacked,

well, they do, but the English only get mildly annoyed

A Viking will slash you with a broad sword,

an Irishman will smack you around until you squeal like a little girl,

unless you are a little girl, in which case,

he’ll just have to be satisfied with beer,

because he’d never hit a little girl

Apparently, there’s mostly little girls around,

because he drinks quite a bit of beer!

But an Englishman, he’ll go out of his way to

avoid a jolly row, eh?

So, better make me 1/3 Scandinavian, 1/3 Irish,

and 1/3 English

I write for fun; I write comedy pieces and some dramatic stuff. I have no formal writing education, and I have a fear of being told I suck, and maybe I should give up on writing, and get a job makin.. more..
