From my WindowA Poem by Michael StevensThe view from my windowLooking out over an overcast day
Watching an aged man shuffle down
the street
Seeing young kids riding their
bikes,
In such a rush to get nowhere fast
Spying a lonely soul looking
forlornly
Out their window; hoping for better
days
A bitter housewife with resignation
in her eyes
Sweeps the walk; how did her life
get this way?
A businessman heads for the mini
van
To start yet-another day; coffee
cup’s a life preserver
Young lovers part; it is such sweet
sorrow,
Until the end of the day; and they
see each other again
I see all this happening, day after
day, from my window © 2013 Michael Stevens |
