Heck on Wheels

Heck on Wheels

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Another of the fictitious neighbors I watch 'From My Window'

"

My name is Jerry Yellin, and I’m a proud member of

The ‘Heck on Wheels’ Bicycle Club

I’m not too sure where we’re going now,

Or why we have to get there in a hurry,

But that’s the way with us kids,

Always in a hurry; in a hurry to grow up,

Although from what I’ve seen of the adult world,

I’m not too sure of why.  Seems to me

Us kids have it pretty good; why mess up a good thing?

Oh, oh, there’s my Dad; I’m in big trouble now,

Unless he doesn’t see me; see, I’m not quite done

With my homework; it’s just so boring!

Oh good, I don’t think he sees me

Come on, guys, let’s cut through these woods!

I write for fun; I write comedy pieces and some dramatic stuff. I have no formal writing education, and I have a fear of being told I suck, and maybe I should give up on writing, and get a job makin.. more..
