Heck on WheelsA Poem by Michael StevensAnother of the fictitious neighbors I watch 'From My Window'My name is Jerry Yellin, and I’m a proud member of
The ‘Heck on Wheels’ Bicycle Club
I’m not too sure where we’re going
now,
Or why we have to get there in a
hurry,
But that’s the way with us kids,
Always in a hurry; in a hurry to
grow up,
Although from what I’ve seen of the
adult world,
I’m not too sure of why. Seems to me
Us kids have it pretty good; why
mess up a good thing?
Oh, oh, there’s my Dad; I’m in big trouble now,
Unless he doesn’t see me; see, I’m
not quite done
With my homework; it’s just so
boring!
Oh good, I don’t think he sees me
Come on, guys, let’s cut through
these woods! © 2013 Michael Stevens |
