Clock Strikes TwelveA Poem by Michael StevensFear and writing! So afraid of the opinion of the people
on the other end of my keyboard; why?
What am I waiting for? The clock is ticking,
and I’m worried about getting my
feelings hurt?
I’ll tell myself that nothing will
happen
if I don’t send out my stuff, but
then I read it again,
and something I had thought was
pretty good,
suddenly becomes a story full of
holes,
and the more time goes by, the
worse it probably is,
until when my finger hovers over
the ‘send’ button,
I cannot push it down; it’s surely
not anything
