Clock Strikes Twelve

Clock Strikes Twelve

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Fear and writing!

"

So afraid of the opinion of the people

on the other end of my keyboard; why?

What am I waiting for?  The clock is ticking,

and I’m worried about getting my feelings hurt?

I’ll tell myself that nothing will happen

if I don’t send out my stuff, but then I read it again,

and something I had thought was pretty good,

suddenly becomes a story full of holes,

and the more time goes by, the worse it probably is,

until when my finger hovers over the ‘send’ button,

I cannot push it down; it’s surely not anything

the publisher’s looking for!

About
I write for fun; I write comedy pieces and some dramatic stuff. I have no formal writing education, and I have a fear of being told I suck, and maybe I should give up on writing, and get a job makin.. more..
