Nothing From Nothing!

This poem is a prime example!

Isn't it amazing?  You know, how the old mind works

 

A few minutes ago, this poem wasn't even an idea

 

Then, I sat down to write, and now it's still a nothing,

 

but it's in front of your eyes, isn't it?  Just an empty

 

waste of space, you say?  But if that's so, what the hell

 

are you doing trying to come up with a clever rank

 

about it?  See, it touched more than your gag reflex,

 

it inspired sympathy for me, and touching emotions is, after all,

 

the name of the game; never mind the emotion it touches

 

causes intense waves of nausea; whether or not it's

 

good is besides the point; I know that it's the

 

equivalent of something about nothing, ala Jerry Seinfeld,

 

but still, you're checking it out, aren't you?

I don't know; to say a poem about nothing could get a response? I sat here and thought, and thought, and couldn't think of anything; maybe it doesn't really say anything, but believe me, it said something in my head; although just what that was is lost in the mists of time!
