Tis the Disposable Age!A Poem by Michael StevensJust reality!When something breaks, throw it away and buy a new one
We've heard it said there's nothing
new under the sun,
but that doesn't apply to the s**t
we make;
tis the disposable age; is it
not? When something breaks,
simply throw it out and buy another
No expensive repairmen; no, we've
got you covered!
Never mind that our landfills are
overflowing,
it's just pollution, and, what are
you going to do?
And we make our products so damn
complicated,
you'll need an 8-year quantum
physics degree
to figure it out; we make you send
it away
to some hard-to pronounce
third-world country;
and we guaranty our product; yes,
we guaranty
you'll be so fed up and frustrated,
that
you'll throw your hands up and say
screw it,
and buy another; which is really
what we
wanted, all along!
