Faded PhotographA Story by Michael StevensFor Great GrandfatherA faded photograph on a dust-covered shelf is all that remains of a life incomplete Great Grandfather looks out from a $3 frame Looking at his face, a face I never saw for real, a person I never knew; what were your hopes, your dreams? What did you always want to do, but never got the chance? You wore the uniform with such pride; the uniform that made you a target Gunned down by a desperate man with limited dreams, You, Great Grandfather, stood for law and order, and paid for it with your life; I wonder how things would be different, if you weren't taken away on that fateful day, the day when you became just a yellowing photograph on the shelf?
