Laughing Before I CryA Poem by Michael StevensProbably not this bad yet, but then again...Unreal scenes on the T.V. screen
make me say, "What year is this,
2013 or 1613?" I really
can't believe
what I'm seeing; backwards into the
new dark ages we go, with all the progress
we've made as a country under assault
by out-of-touch politicians, who don't
seem to care about the will of the people
They live in the Fox News bubble;
an alternate universe, more right than conservatism,
where women live to take care of their man,
stay at home and become a baby machine
They're seen and not heard; why would they
want a career when they've got their man
to take care of them and decide everything?
And a right to choose; please!
Men know best
what a woman wants, and voting rights; white men
are all the voting rights we need
So I've just got to laugh, before I cry!
