Dear Winifred; Jan. 10A Story by Michael StevensAdvice (NOT good!) column
Warning;
advice given is NOT politically correct!
"Dear Winifred, My best friend is
always an embarrassment when we go out for a drink. Usually, he's a friendly, affable sort, who
stays quiet and keeps his opinions to himself, but after a couple drinks, Mr.
Hyde comes out, and Dr. Jeckle takes a leave of absence. He's obnoxious, loud, rude, and
offensive. And, the worst part of it
all, is that I'm considered his friend, and have to do some fancy talking to
avoid a fight. The thought of bringing
this up to my friend is not a pleasant one.
Any advice on how I should handle this uncomfortable situation? Signed Always the Peacemaker."
"Dear 'Always the Peacemaker', This
is, unfortunately, an all-to-common situation.
Some people change completely after a few drinks. It's just too bad for your friend that you
apparently don't have the stones to back him up. I mean, here he is, standing up like a man,
and here you are, wearing a dress with a pattern of your fear on it. Come on man; your friend said something that
provokes someone, and you're heading for the exit like a puss, shrivel nuts! Winifred."
"Winifred, am a woman!"
