Stranger Than FictionA Poem by Michael StevensMy life is...Stranger Than Fiction
I would have called you crazy if
you'd told me
what lay in store for me in the
years ahead
That I'd lose everything familiar;
that I'd have
to move home; that I'd need help,
for anything
That at age 51 now, I'd have to
start everything over;
that I'd actually be 51; that I'd be a divorced, 51 year
old dude, living with my
parents. Oh, don't get me wrong,
I'm lucky to have them there, but
I've been independent
for so long, and to suddenly find
myself not?
