The Darkness Void

The Darkness Void

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Negative vs. positive within

"

There's a place in my mind never warmed by the sun

A place where cobwebs gather and darkness rules

It's a place I don't visit very often; but I keep the key

Creaking virtual door hides the black shadows

That reside there; I'm reluctant to enter,

But sometimes I must; with faltering steps

I reluctantly enter to face down my darkest fears

And do battle with my positive self for supremacy,

And shape which will ultimately win control

Yes, we all have these dark places. I stay out of mine.

You're smarter than I, although a potted houseplant is smarter than me!
