Alone

Alone

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

A man left alone with his thoughts

"

Day breaks, cold light streaming through the window,

Slapping me awake with its loneliness

The empty shadows seem to mock me,

While the arctic air threatens to invade

My linen sanctuary; the silence is deafening

Please, please, don't leave me alone with my thoughts!
