When They Come for You

When They Come for You

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Self vs. self!

"

Oh God, they're right outside your head,

Trying to get in; thoughts disguised as anvils

Regret, guilt, they aren't your friends

Oh sure, they smile and say all the right things,

But once inside, they'll turn vicious and wreak havoc

On your fragile balance of equilibrium,

Send you careening off balance,

And rob you blind

But once inside, they'll turn vicious and wreak havoc

On your fragile balance of equilibrium,

Send you careening off balance,

And rob you blind

Rob you blind indeed. Nicely penned :)
