Dear Winifred; Mar. 19A Story by Michael StevensAdvice (NOT good!) column Dear Winifred, I'm a teenage girl who
recently got my driver's license. The
problem is my parents. Whenever I ask to
borrow the car, they exchange looks, and ask me why. I don't like when they do this, as it makes
me feel idiotic. How can I tell them
they're bugging me without hurting their feelings? Signed New Driver Girl
Dear New Driver Girl, you're parents are
worried about your driving, and for good reason; do you know how much a new BMW,
or other overdone shallow displays of wealth cost? You have to take into account their
overwhelming desire to rub their wealth in the faces of their
backwards-baseball hat-wearing, tobacco-chewing, s**t-driving, plow horse neighbors.
I mean, other than a way over-sized, over-priced home, and them just
saying it, what else is there but their car?
Winifred
