Through the Looking Glass

Through the Looking Glass

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

How others see me

"

I've found a very special looking glass,

One that allows me to step outside

Myself and see how others view me

I turn it to the left and I see the

Happy-go-lucky me; the funny guy

Who doesn't take much seriously

But I turn it to the right and see the

Brooding, morose me who sees nothing

Remotely humorous in the world around him

I see everyone expecting the former,

But sometimes getting the latter

i usually really don't care how people see me....but i know it is a very important thing to consider in life.
but some people even try to pretend, to hide who they really are....which is wrong.

i'm happy you wrote about it.
keep good poems coming

You are welcome ...:)......................
I think that applies to so many of us, we put our best foot forward to be accepted, and tolerate ourselves most times....I really like this one Michael.

Thank you much, Frieda!
No brooding Mikey brooders are no fun and then I would have to go looking for another beer drinking person to take me to penicillin week and it is so hard to get people who want to go lol.

Ha you never cease to amaze me with your witty retorts :)
Yes, I always expect the former from you. We have enough brooders on this site.
