The Curse of the Shallow!

Ranting, AGAIN!

Stop me if you've heard this one before;

 

'The media here is lame!'

 

Better forget about stopping me,

 

Because there's absolutely NO way! 

 

Oh sure, you can stop reading, but I'm

 

Not going to stop writing or complaining,

 

Because it's true; like today, real international

 

Crisis, and what do we hear?  About thirty seconds on that,

 

And two or three minutes on Justin Bieber trashing

 

Someone's camera because he thought she'd

 

Taken his picture, without his approval!  Now THAT'S news!

 

Glad to know the media knows a truly important

 

Story when they see it; good God!

 

And so the media is infected with 'The Curse of the Shallow"

 

Is it the media, or us?

Now this caught my attention. Most of the poems I read here are about love and darkness, not that it's not good it's just this is the first poem that I've read which has a different story. Different but great and new. Love it!

I don't watch tv. And I understand Justin Bieber sucks, though I've never heard his music, naturally.
But I do see those silly stories on magazine covers, about who dumped who and who lost or gained weight and what this autopsy revealed and all that stuff. And I just don't see why I should care, lol.
