     Dear Winifred, I've become concerned about the liberal bias I see in the media.  It sure feels like the values I hold dear, good old conservative values, are being lost among the Godless, morally-bankrupt so-called values being trumpeted by the far left.  Gay marriage, anti-war, welfare for the poor, which does nothing but encourage people to stay dependent on 'Uncle Sugar'?  People are looking to the government to take care of them, instead of taking care of themselves.  I'm afraid we've lost our way; and are heading in the wrong direction.  Signed The Spirit of 1776

     Fred, this is Winifred, while you're out on the street, trying to find a new job, remember to mind you own business!  None of my readers could give a flying f**k what 'Fred the Janitor' thinks about anything, let alone anything more complex than the channel number for 'The Cartoon Network'!  Winifred

Fred the janitor may change his views on welfare once he's in the street. Although I must agree with Winifred in part; the welfare system as it exists is not working.

I just get mad when the Republicans say it doesn't encourage people to work; sure a small percentage of the people getting welfare are just taking advantage of it, but the overwhelming number of people desperately need it, and would rather have a job and work for it!
