Take With a Grain; No, Check That, With a 3-Ton Bag of Salt!

A Story by Michael Stevens
"

Not really a story per-say, but...

"

"Breaking news!  Something's happened, but please remember you're seeing it through the lens of our political agenda, our point of view!"  So should state the warning that ought to accompany each and every 'story' that airs on any cable news program, but does it?  Hell no!  They report everything as what's really  happening, when you turn to another station and they're reporting the exact opposite.  The viewer is left to decide for themselves what the truth is.  The problem with that is, you ask?  Most viewers watch only the station that feeds their pre-conceived beliefs, and don't get to hear, or want to hear, any story that goes against those beliefs.  The networks need the viewers, so they cow-tow to the almighty dollar, and 'report' from a certain position; one that will keep attracting their viewers.  Hard news is long gone; gone with the likes of Uncle Walter.  And so we're left picking and choosing between 'news' programs for the truth.  I know people who will only watch a certain network, and because of that, don't even get a good mix of what might be true.  It's a sad fact that so-called 'hard' news is gone forever.  "RIP; here lies integrity"!

true, true! quite a dilemma. who to trust, then? do you suggest we shun the media? I think we've had it, friend. with everything that's happening in every corner of the world every single day, we hunger for news, probably dreading WW III.
