The Void Beneath My Hat

The Void Beneath My Hat

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

The Painful Truth!

"

There's a mysterious void where thoughts go to die,

Where the mess can be cleaned up, using two-ply

Where humor is confused with drama, good

Confused with terrible, and shouldn't with should

The ruler of this land looks a lot like me

That something shouldn't be said, he just can't see

He really should pay more attention to the words transcribed,

He knows he needs to pull his head out; he really tries,

But he just plows straight ahead and writes stuff anyway

Be it a terrible story, a terrible poem, or a terrible play!

I laughed at the title of this even before I saw the entire piece. You're actually doing more than a lot of writers, who just sit there and refuse to put down anythng at all.

Thank you Marie; I thought I'd have a little fun at my own expense!

About
I write for fun; I write comedy pieces and some dramatic stuff. I have no formal writing education, and I have a fear of being told I suck, and maybe I should give up on writing, and get a job makin.. more..
