Just Along For the Ride!A Poem by Michael StevensThe motion-sickness blues!Used
to go for a drive just for fun
Loved
to try to get myself lost
Now
those driving days are done
Now
days I pay way too high of a cost
Talking
'Zuke City' dead ahead!
I
now have to depend
On
others to drive where angels fear to tread
Too
fast on the brake, too quick an unseen stop, and I fend
Off
the dizzies, or at least try
There's
nothing like the feeling of impending doom
All
the while, I'm wondering 'why?'
I
never used to get car sick, now I live in gloom
and
terror at the very notion
Of
having to go somewhere; leaving the house
I
absolutely live in fear of, and hate, motion
Sickness;
now it falls to my mom cause the ain't a spouse
What
the hell is a druther, anyway? Anyone
got
Any ideas? Oh, never mind!
I feel like I'm caught
Unless there's some way not to be
sick, that I can't find!
