The View From Mike's Face; Jan. 2A Story by Michael StevensJust my opinion The more I see of T.V. cable news, the
more depressed I get. There is no
'there' there. The days of someone trustworthy like Walter Cronkite, who you
believed 100 percent, are so over. What
has replaced his ilk are cardboard cutouts under the banner of 'reporter'. The people are being ripped off; sure, it's a
slick version of news programming; it looks
impressive, it looks important,
but it's all smoke and no fire. Instead
of unbiased reporting, we get the news slanted to support whatever position the
network holds. The worst offender, at
least in my humble opinion, is Fox News.
I'll hear about a story on there, think no one will believe that b. s.,
only to find out Fox News viewers certainly do.
They believe it because it's the only news show they will watch. They are told and believe that every other
network has a 'liberal bias', and are all lying, every one of them. Now, I don't single out Fox as the only
network that manipulates the truth to support their ideology, they all do it,
some more than others, but gone are the days when the truth meant
something. Now days, it's all about
entertaining people. NPR is about the
last bastion of truth left in journalism.
What would Walter Cronkite say about the joke our media has become? I think I can guess, but kids might read
this, so I'd better not say! © 2015 Michael StevensReviews
