"Skip Over Here!"

"Skip Over Here!"

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Those annoying T.V. pitchmen!

"

"Hi, Skip Over Here!" is his world-famous first line

Yes, Skip Over is the most famous T.V. pitchman that you will find

Everything from miracle cleaning products to boner pills,

His is the unseen voice that always kills!

Never seen but always most definitely heard

And if you've ever listened to him, we think you'll concur

He could sell sand to a nomad, snow tires to a bus rider,

His is the mouth that never gets tired

Flapping, flapping, in a non-stop barrage

Of rapid-fire yelling that you cannot dodge

You'll end up buying, just to shut his face-hole,

Or pie hole if you prefer; however you say it no

Amount of bitching will make him give it

Up, that talking faster than your ear can see s**t!

You'll scream in frustration, cause he's on every channel

Yes, his is the voice that'll make you think you're in Hell!

But there's no denying that he gets the sales

You can't explain it, but he never fails

To close the deal; makes the cash for the corporation

Yes, when you hear his voice, and how could you not, you'd better run

His is the voice of the Siren, luring you to smash on the rocks

And if it's an erection you seek, better hang on to your...!

Cause that's just one of many products, like we said before,

That he pitches with that booming voice, but wait, there's more!

An easy payment is when someone else makes it!
Oh yes. I remember getting sucked in by one of these commercials in the late 1970's. I worked for money from 10 years old (yeah, no, I wasn't abused, just ambitious) I saved up all my money for this album I ordered off a tv commercial. Wasn't worth it, but it was a lesson learned.
