Nothing New Under the Sun, or Here!

Nothing New Under the Sun, or Here!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Blank Canvas!

"

Sitting here, bored out of my mind,

There's no adventure, at least that I can find

Blue blankness fills my lolling head,

Around by my bummer I am lead!

It's Black Friday, even though it's Saturday

I really have nothing for this poem to say

Listening to paint dry doesn't lend to the creative

My brain is a colander through which good ideas sieve

There's nothing new under the sun, or here

My muse is a phantom, that soon disappears

Think, think! I tell myself, but it's no use

If winning means creativity, well then I'll lose

Tits up in The Game of Ideas is me

A big L on my forehead, that's what you'll see!

There is nothing new under the sun. But poets have to say things in different ways to make them new. Like your observence that "It's Black Friday, even thogh it's Saturday..."
