Courageous Remote Hand!

Courageous Remote Hand!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

'16 presidential race; courage!

"

My remote hand is the most courageous hand I know

It boldly leads my eyes where they're scared to go

Changing channels with reckless abandon;

To cable news shows who cover the political cons

  And I'll tell you, it's soon going to take all the bravery it's got,

Cause the '16 presidential race will not

Be any fun to behold; if the '08 and '12 races are any judge

Seems every election brings claims much more outlandish, such

Ludicrous charges back and forth; and everyone's an expert

"Next, we'll ask Ben Harpoon about the claim the Lady Ga-Ga may have hurt

Her presidential hopes by saying she's not going to run,

When conventional wisdom (according to us!) says she's not done

Thinking about it yet; and we'll have an exclusive report

On the deep hidden meaning of her 'no' claim, and sort

Out all  the gossip about other presidential hopefuls;

Never fear viewers, we'll get down to below

Common sense level to preposterous just for you!

So stay tuned to us, no matter what you do!"

"All the news that's fit to air, or keep the viewer glued

 to our network around the clock."  Dude;

See how brave my hand will soon have to be?

No, brave would be the off button, so I wouldn't have to see!

Actually the "off" button is not brave; it's just sensible.

Agreed, but I took creative liberties!
