The Sad Wind

The Sad Wind

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

It is the wind, right?

"

Here in bed I lie, listening to the sad wind

Telling me in whispered mournful voice of its regrets,

Of bad choices from years gone by

Strange how it feels like it's here in this room

And why tell me? I've got burdens of my own

I really enjoyed this. It's short and simple but filled with so much depth. And i really love the ending. It was a sudden change of tone that brought even more life to the piece and is masterful to carry out. Thank you for sharing!
