Life of the Party!A Poem by Michael StevensWhat might your pets be up to when you're not home?![]() Co-written by Jax Franklin You know, when my master went out of town,
I thought it'd be a perfect time for my pals to come around.
We'd all have one hell of a good party, have
good times and eat hearty.
I lectured them to stay in control and keep it all real, even though I wanted to raise some hell, act out at will.
It felt like a party animal night, they had been far and few between. so I liberated some 151 to let my hair down--I was so keen.
We took turns taking shots oh hell--we guzzled. I had a good time-- would not be muzzled.
Soon, we all had the glassy stares of wasteoids-- before long I felt great, like a man on steroids!
When I came to, I was passed out on the lawn-- my friends had bailed-- they were gone.
Litter was everywhere-- the party must have really been something cool so if you visit now, bring lots of black coffee for this drunken fool!
I wish I could remember better-- lordy what a buzz! I probably had a good time-- but head's so full of fuzz.
When my master gets home, he'll see I overdid it, am paying
the price. But he should save his lecture, cause I'm really not feeling very
nice! © 2015 Michael Stevens |
