Eeyore Day!

Eeyore Day!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

The very definition of Mondays!

"

If you're looking for a real poem, this ain't it!

                                           ***

Oh crap, it's the worst of all possible days.

The day to end all days, one that fills me with malaise.

The kind of day where you feel like doing zip,

the kind that it seems impossible to get any kind of a grip!

***

Oh my--"It will never work!", it matters not the what.

All I want to do is sit around on my lazy butt!

Let me put it this way, if lazy was a stream,

I'd be a raging river, kicking back the theme.

***

I wish we could just skip right over Monday.

Doesn't matter if it's sunny with a rainbow, to me it just

seems gray.

I'm thinking of starting a petition, to try to change the law,

you know, the one that says there must be 7 days, it's flawed,

***

and I'm not alone, I think the 'Boomtown Rat's' said it best,

My first thought upon waking is "surely you jest!"

Followed almost immediately with an unrepeatable curse.

To me, there are few thing worse

***

than starting off already bummed, because

it's the start of yet-another week. It goes back to when I was

fighting the daily war with other drivers on the commute from Hell,

like an angry racer, going nowhere fast after the starting bell.

***

I've often heard it said that I resemble an a*s.

I guess it's true on Mondays, cause that day we can't just bypass,

and start on Tuesday--then I'd do The Donkey Happy Dance,

but that's not possible, in wishing for the moon, there's basically no chance!
