Jagged Thoughts

Jagged Thoughts

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

I may sound like I'm whining, but I really am!

"

Staggering around blindly, careening off memories.

Can't shut off my brain, can't stem the virtual flow

of crimson--I stare in disbelief as it splashes

in torrents--it is a wound of my own making

These jagged thoughts cut so deeply,

bringing the pain like a thousand knives.

Nothing seems to help, as I just keep on bleeding,

and question all the choices I ever made.

Put on some bandaids and stop thinking about the past. You can't change it, and you can't bleed it away.
