Writer Forced

Writer Forced

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

My life

"

No choice, no choice in the matter.

Searching for that most elusive

of states, piece of mind, and trying

to keep from going insane with boredom.

I don't know what I'd do if I had no computer.

I could take up jogging if I had any balance.

As it is, reading's no easy chore, either, but

I struggle through. You see, I became a writer,

not through choice, but because it's all that I've

found to take up my time, and time I seem to have,

day in and day out.

Please don't misunderstand, I love writing,

but the sad truth is, without my injury,

I probably would never become a writer,

it forced me to slow down.

Yeah, I see that now from reading your bio. I guess the context does help the poem.
