Rings Hollow

Rings Hollow

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

A very annoying person

"

Sometimes, you're happiness bullshit rings hollow,

and you're holier-than-thou attitude is a little hard to swallow.

You're a good one for saying how you'd handle a situation,

but the truth is, you're own situation has come undone.

***

You hand out advice like Halloween candy,

you say what you think--unasked for and free.

You'd better look in the mirror before you try to tell

me what I should do--I'm not one who's under your spell.

***

You seem to think of yourself as wise and kind,

but I find you the opposite of each, you must be blind

to the way others' see you, self-centered to the nth degree.

I tell you a high-and-mighty, greedy, needy jerk is all I see.

wonderful alliteration about honesty and truth. I love this, so blunt and real and truthful; not too many poems are written this well. Thanks for sharing this and have a great day.

I write for fun; I write comedy pieces and some dramatic stuff. I have no formal writing education, and I have a fear of being told I suck, and maybe I should give up on writing, and get a job makin.. more..
