Regurgitated Nothings!

Regurgitated Nothings!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

When you don't have a clue!

"

It's the scourge of a seemingly-intelligent mind,

you have no clue nor idea of any kind.

Yes, in this electronic age of instant viewing,

hawk up a nothing-ball, and send it spewing!

In the wall of ideas, you can't make a dent,

because you've got nothing, yes, it's your lament.

When you're typing away, and it suddenly dawns on you

you've already covered this ground, now what will you do?

You're suddenly desperate to find a way

out of this repeat mess merry-go-round--what will you say?

You try to rationalize, "Maybe they won't notice!"

Yeah, and maybe I'll become a famous actress,

and maybe there's little green men living on Pluto!

The well's dried up, from which ideas flow.

Give it up, just accept the truth.

It'll just get worse the more you try to do.

Today, you're the man without a plan,

Tomorrow, you'll still draw a total blank, man!
