No Bad News

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

At least for one day

"

A golden sun shines down on me, warming my very soul,

even though clouds dominate the darkened sky above. No,

hate is banished, jealousy's barred from this place,

and I walk around with a gleaming smile upon my face.

All the bad happenings swirling surround me,

all the nightmares shown on a continuous loop on TV

won't bring me down, at least for this happy day.

I won't get disheartened or discouraged--they can say

what they want, it won't make me blue.

Just for today, it'll be puppies and rainbows--do

your worst, say your worse, show your worst,

today I'm not losing, I'm coming in first.

I like this piece, like the little rhymes here and there, although the rhymes could improve a little bit.
I love the whole meaning to this poem. Its so upbeat and uplifting and positive.
It is like saying that the darkness trys to swarm around you get you down, but you hold your head up, and be happy because life is short.
I wish I could have this attitude on life, very inspiring piece indeed.
Keep writing always :)
