Just my opinion

                                                    

There is a land were wishes are true, even when they're not,

a land where untrue innuendo is preached, and taught.

 

It is a land where it's open season for hunting and killing facts.

It is a land where people only believe what they want, and tact

 

is non-existent, and bold-face lies are simply believed as true,

a land that longs for the good old days of 1652.

 

A land where scientific truths are mocked and ridiculed,

where higher learning is ripped as being somehow un-cool.

 

The kings of this land look down from their ivory towers,

and are selling us fear, with some real whoppers,

 

which their subjects believe, readily, because they're desperate

to--for them, news from this land goes unquestioned, and is a habit

 

formed over years of subtly, or not so subtly, being brainwashed,

the truth is what their kings' say it is, and all else is squashed,

 

so that only their version of the 'truth' is presented,

and any scientific facts that disagrees with it, are resented.

 

Their subjects are defensive and don't watch anything

that disagrees with what they are told is true, and they cling

 

stubbornly to that, and the reason they give as to why the won't,

is that everyone else is lying, and for that reason, they don't

 

believe anything that doesn't match up with what they are told,

that clash with the fables they are being sold.

 

So, how can you reason with people who don't believe in it?

With those who would rather believe some way-out-there s**t?
